As one of only three Communications, Media and the Arts schools in Jefferson County, Fern Creek Traditional High School (FCTHS) has a special focus on these three exciting areas of study. But as a traditional school, we continue to offer a broad foundation in the basic areas of study such as writing, reading, mathematics and science that will prepare students for success after graduation.
FCTHS is also the home of the Tiger Creek Academy, a “school within a school” that helps incoming freshmen transition from middle school to high school – academically, socially, and emotionally.
FCTHS provides an innovative academic program with a variety of majors to meet students’ diverse career and college interests. Students select a School of Study that best suits their academic or career goals. There are four diversified Schools of Study to choose from:
- School of Communication and Media
- School of Visual and Performing Arts
- School of Analytical and Applied Sciences
- School of Leadership and Social Science
Our traditional school works thanks to clearly established teacher and school guidelines. Active parental support is crucial to the student’s success with both the student and parent agreeing to the program's requirements. FCTHS students also agree to a uniform dress code.
